LOLA x Jennae Cecelia: Poetry, Care, and Conversations That Stick With You

LOLA x Jennae Cecelia: Poetry, Care, and Conversations That Stick With You

We could not be more excited to share this one with you. This August, we partnered with poet and mental health advocate Jennae Cecelia for her 7 city Deep In My Feels book tour.

If you have ever read something that made you pause, take a deep breath, and feel a little less alone, that is what Jennae’s poetry does. Her words are honest, tender, and unafraid to go deep. As part of our partnership, Jennae created custom LOLA inspired poems just for you, our community. We also showed up at every stop on her tour with LOLA goodies for attendees, because caring for yourself is about more than what is on your shelf. It is about all the ways we take care of our minds and hearts, too.

Meet Jennae

Jennae Cecelia is a best-selling author and poet who has been sharing her words with the world since 2016. This year, her poem I Met My Younger Self for Coffee reached millions of people online, opening up conversations about self reflection and healing in the most relatable way.

She has published 13 books on her own, selling over 75,000 copies, and now she has released her first traditionally published work, Deep In My Feels. In her poems, she takes those little moments we all brush past, like a quiet conversation or a feeling we cannot quite name, and turns them into something you want to keep forever.

Why We Are Showing Up Together

At LOLA, we believe in showing up for the real stuff. The awkward firsts, the big changes, the tiny everyday things that still matter. Ten years ago, we started with tampons made with 100% organic cotton, and since then, we have grown into a brand that supports you through every stage of your reproductive health journey.

Jennae’s work lives in that same space. She is not afraid to talk about the feelings we sometimes avoid, and she does it in a way that feels safe and empowering. Her poetry and our products might be different forms of care, but they both serve the same purpose: to help you feel confident, supported, and seen.

And yes, we are also here for the moments in between — the ones where you are sitting on your bed, wearing your comfiest sweatshirt, wondering what is next for you. Those moments deserve a little care too.

The Deep In My Feels Tour

From August 12th to 19th, Jennae visited:

  • Minneapolis / St. Paul (ModernWell)

  • Boston (Trident Booksellers & Café)

  • New York (Strand Books – Union Square)

  • New York (Bedford Books)

  • Washington DC (Old Town Books)

  • Cincinnati (Joseph Beth)

  • Chicago (Anderson’s Bookshop)

Think cozy, intimate events with poetry readings, Q&A sessions, book signings, and LOLA goodies for select attendees.

August and the Art of Starting Fresh

The timing of this tour could not have been better. August always has that back to school energy, even if you have not stepped into a classroom in years. It is that little spark that says, maybe I can start fresh. Maybe I can do this thing differently.

Jennae’s poems are perfect for that moment. They invite you to reflect, reconnect with yourself, and maybe even rewrite the way you speak to yourself. Pair that with the comfort and confidence of LOLA products, and you have a pretty great toolkit for heading into whatever is next.

And if we’re being honest, we all could use a pep talk before the fall rush hits — and Jennae’s words are like the friend who gives you one without even trying.

A Quick Chat with Jennae

We sat down with Jennae to talk about her writing, her new book, and what it means to take care of yourself in all the ways that matter.

Q: What inspired Deep In My Feels and what do you hope people take away from it?
A: Deep In My Feels was born out of the moments where emotions felt too big to carry alone. I wanted to create a collection that held space for all of it. The heartbreaks, the healing, the nostalgia, the gratitude, the love. The title came naturally, because I’ve always been someone who feels deeply, and I know I’m not the only one.

What I hope people take away is a sense of being understood. That when they’re reading these poems, whether it’s late at night, on a plane, or in a coffee shop, they feel less alone in what they’re going through. I want this book to be a reminder that feeling deeply is not a weakness, it’s a way of experiencing life fully. If readers close the book and feel both comforted and more connected to themselves, then it’s done what I hoped it would.

Q: Your poem I Met My Younger Self for Coffee connected with millions. Why do you think it struck such a chord?
A: I think it struck such a chord because it tapped into something so universal, wondering what it would be like to sit down with a younger version of yourself honestly. We all carry younger versions of ourselves inside us, with their hopes, insecurities, and questions, and imagining that conversation feels both comforting and healing.

It also offered people a sense of permission to reflect, to grieve, to celebrate, to forgive themselves. Poetry has this way of putting into words what people feel but haven’t yet articulated. I created a blueprint and they were able to create from that and find themselves in the details.

Q: How does vulnerability play a role in your work and in your life?
A: Vulnerability is at the heart of everything I do, both on the page and in my everyday life. Poetry for me has always been about saying the things we’re often told to keep quiet. The fears, the heartbreak, the longing, the small moments that feel too raw to share. When I write, I’m not trying to put on a mask; I’m trying to take one off.

In my life, that means letting people see me as I am. Not just the polished version but the messy, questioning, deeply feeling human behind the words. It can be uncomfortable, but I’ve learned that the moments I lean into that discomfort are the ones that connect me most to others.

Q: If you could write a poem to your teenage self about periods and body confidence, what would the first line be?
A: Confidence won’t come overnight, but neither will it hide forever. Trust that your body is teaching you how to grow into yourself.

Tour Recap: What We Learned, Loved, and Will Remember

Now that the Deep In My Feels tour has wrapped, we are still feeling inspired. Over the course of seven cities, we heard hundreds of stories from you — stories about your first poems, your first periods, your first moments of really feeling seen.

Here are a few of Jennae’s favorite memories:

I shared the series of LOLA poems and there was a beautiful response of people finding themselves in the details.

In Minneapolis, my first grade teacher came to celebrate with me. She was a teacher who deeply impacted my life and made me fall in love with reading and writing.

In Boston, a mom came with her five year old daughter and told me she wanted her to see a woman going for her dreams. Her daughter had me sign her children’s book she bought.

In NYC, a woman cried with me at my table telling me about her infertility journey and how healing my words have been for her.

In Alexandria, VA, two women told me how much they love LOLA products and were excited to be gifted a pouch full of tampons, pads, and wipes.

What We Noticed Along the Way
